Terrence 'Sweet Tea' grayson

Born into a musical family on Nov 25, 1980, in Jackson, Mississippi, Terrence Grayson had no choice but to become a musician himself. His powerful gospel xvl feel for music results from his playing piano and drums in the church at a very young age. It was hearing his father practice playing the bass that would soon steal his heart, and when he was twelve Terrence’s career as a bass player began. In 2005 he was introduced to the blues when he began touring with Grammy Award winner and Blues Hall of Fame inductee Bobby Rush. From 2010 until 2012 Terrence played for two-time Blues Music Award winner Michael “Iron Man” Burks. Throughout his career he could be seen performing with various blues, soul, and R&B artists like Shirley Brown, Vasti Jackson, Glenn Jones, Debbie Davis, and Willie Clayton, among others.

Since 2015, Terrence has been touring and recording with Victor Wainwright and The Train (formerly The WildRoots), and together they brought home the 2016 Band of the Year award at the Blues Music Awards. That same year, Victor Wainwright won the prestigious B.B. King Entertainer of the year award to add to his two previously won Blues Music Awards.

Terrence’s wide-ranging experience and eclectic musical inspirations has led him to record an album of his own showcasing his versatile bass style.  Combining a gospel background with influences of blues, soul, funk, R&B and a touch of jazz,  he has developed a powerful, slinky,  funky and soulful style that's sure to make some part of you groove from a happy place.
